Day 3 Mississippi

Today we walked across the Mississippi River near the Saint Anthony Falls in Minneapolis, MN. The government of Minnesota is having budget problems, so they shut down all the state parks in Minnesota. That's why we couldn't go to the headwaters of the Mississippi River. Instead, we walked across a cool stone bridge. There were locks there because of the waterfall, so boats could still go past. Then, when we got across to the other side, we saw a whole bunch of cool statues. One that my mom thought would be very cool, turned out to be a power line tower. Go figure. We also found some good climbing trees, as you can see. The hardest part was getting down.

We went to a Thai resteraunt for lunch. The food was very good.

We had a long drive to find a place called "Reeves" North Dakota (my grandparent's last name is Reeves). There turned out to be no Reeves. The only evidence of a population for miles around were some cute cows. When we left, the cows waved farewell with their tails, and the third day was ended.

  1. OK, it took me all day and a box of adult beverages but I can now comment. Had an issue with the browser. I have a bunch of folks with kids following you at work, most have kids that are Andy's age and are excited about all the sights you will see along your journey! Keep your posts coming. Hope to have grandma up and running soon too!

  2. Unfortunate change of plans (even more unfortunate for MN tourism and the citizenry), but it sounds like you guys came up with a good alternative.

Hey, maybe Reeves, ND is in another dimension?

    Drive on!
